Frequently Asked Questions
-
How is quality of care maintained with your model?
At EdVantage Health, quality of care is our top priority. We implement outcome-based clinical monitoring, track key metrics (such as symptom improvement, wait times, and utilization), and provide regular reporting to universities. This helps ensure students receive measurable, high-quality care.
-
What kind of services are available to students?
Students will have access to in-person counseling on campus and off campus where available, as well as access to our extensive network of providers via telehealth. This includes therapy and psychiatry across 40+ specialties, medication management, and wellness resources.
-
How do you ensure clinical standards are met?
We are constantly monitoring clinical progress. All of our providers are licensed and supervised according to strict clinical quality guidelines. We use evidence-based treatments and monitor outcomes from start to finish, at the individual and population levels.
-
How do students access care?
Students can book appointments through a secure online platform or in person at the counseling center.
-
What if a student prefers in-person counseling?
We believe that students’ treatment preferences are key to successful clinical outcomes. That is why we offer both in-person and telehealth services. If a student prefers to see a provider in person, they can make an appointment with a provider at the counseling center, or we can match them with a provider in our network off-campus where available.
-
What if a student has specific preferences for their therapist or psychiatrist?
Every student deserves to feel comfortable with their mental health provider. Our nationwide network includes 13,000+ therapists and 400+ psychiatrists. When booking an initial appointment, students can share their preferences, whether related to treatment modality or personal background, so that they are matched with someone they feel safe with.
-
How do you protect student privacy and uphold HIPPA compliance?
We use secure, encrypted technology, strict access controls, and provider training to safeguard all protected health information (PHI). Any data shared with the university is fully de-identified and configured to exclude PHI, ensuring student privacy and HIPAA compliance.
-
Can services be tailored to our campus needs?
Absolutely. Every university has different needs, and we will collaborate with your leadership team to align our services with campus culture and student demographics.
-
What will happen to our current on-campus counseling staff?
Any current counseling staff will remain on site and become EdVantage Health employees. Our goal is to integrate existing staff with our team while maintaining continuity of care for your students.
-
Will there be disruption to student services during implementation?
No. Our transition model is designed to be seamless, so that there are no interruptions to student access to care. Students will continue to see the same clinicians they’ve been working with on site, now supported by expanded, integrated virtual resources and infrastructure.
-
How are services billed?
We bill students’ insurance directly, reducing costs for the university. This also expands student access to specialized care without straining university budgets.
